ExxonMobil Corporation is one of the world’s leading oil companies. To provide enhanced technical support to its 9 European and Middle Eastern refineries, it has established a new Regional Engineering office in Antwerp Belgium. This new office is located on the site of the world class Esso Antwerp Refinery.

Role:

• Fulfil a regional technical specialist consulting position who supports multiple European and Middle Eastern refineries
• Provide in depth technical leadership and support to refining sites with a focus on troubleshooting, asset improvement and technology selection

Reports to:

• Equipment Technology Section Head

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Respond to plant operational events
• Analyze site equipment performance
• Drive site asset improvement in the areas of:  Safety, Reliability,  Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability
• Assist sites in application of new technology
• Provide regional technical leadership via involvement (participation /  facilitation) in formal technical networks / work groups
• Develop and deliver technical training for plant engineering organizations
• Support major capital projects in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance and start-up assistance
• Develop and maintain technical standards & guidelines

Qualifications:

• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Chartered or working towards Chartership preferred)
• 5+ years professional experience required - preferably within an operating company or a major engineering contractor (petrochemical or other heavy industry experience strongly desired)

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of petrochemical industry fired equipment – with a primary emphasis on fired process heaters
• Experience with fired heaters should range from performing thermal design, through evaluating actual operations
• Knowledge of steam generation, waste heat recovery, incineration and glare technologies
• Familiarity with the combustion process as well as fired heater ancillary equipment
• Knowledge of international design and construction codes related to fired equipment, including knowledge of control and safety facilities
